Due to Covid19 issues, the Hale Road Parts and Restoration Sheds were closed in March with the flick of a switch, but I am afraid that to reopen is a much more involved process and a rather onerous one at that.
For most of us we are living in unprecedented times.
The City of Kalamunda has just provided full details of the requirements to reopen our club. As a result, we have studied those details and have submitted the required documentation, including a Covid Safety Plan. A lot of this is controlled by State Government requirements.
Even though we have submitted our plan, we now have to install signage, develop cleaning and hygiene protocols, a Covid tracking mechanism, have a group of members undertake a brief Covid19 Infection Control on line module and ensure that social distancing is maintained.
In summary, the Parts and Restoration Sheds will need to remain closed until we have received permission to reopen the club and all the necessary signage and protocols are in place.
Whilst planning is continuing, due to Covid, the style of operating the Parts Shed will need to change for now and the arrangements being considered are that the Parts Shed may open twice per week rather than once per week, each open day the Shed Coordinator will select a small group of helpers from the Helper Pool (Will vary each time), members seeking parts will need to ring the Shed Coordinator to book and a two hour window will be granted.
Once we reopen the Shed, morning tea will initially be suspended.
The Restoration Shed operating processes are also being reviewed, but again, nothing can restart until we have permission to do so and all signage and processes are in place.
