If you have any questions, queries, or comments about the Code 404 rules you can ask them here in this forum.

The good news is that there will be no changes to the current DoT Concessional Vehicle Licencing Code 404.

There were a few points raised by CMC member clubs which were addressed in the linked document from the DoT.   DoT Clarification of Rules Nov21.pdf

Just a few notes to clarify the points raised in this document

In regard to our club, the “Run Log” is the “Impromptu Run Registration Form” which is accessible in the members area on the club website, or by using the Impromptu Run Event in the Wild Apricot for members App on your phone.

The “Identifier Labels” are the descriptive identifiers of either ‘VETERAN’, ‘VINTAGE’, ‘POST VINTAGE’, ‘INVITATION’ or ‘HISTORIC’.

All of the relevant information in regard to the Dot Code 404 rules are available on the Council of Motoring Clubs website, http://www.councilofmotoringclubs.asn.au/index.php/downloads/code-404
where you will find a link to the Code 404 Handbook V4 and other Code 404 information and forms.

    Hi,

Just wondering who do we have to see to get the C.O.M vehicle declaration signed?

Re the Certification Of Financial Membership and Vehicle Compliance Form

This has to be completed by an Authorised Person of the VCCC. Normally, this will be the Vehicle Registrar (David Reid), or any of the Vehicle Examiners listed on the back of the Early Auto magazine.

Just contact any of the "FIRST LICENCE VEHICLE EXAMINERS" listed on the back of the Early Auto magazine.

I am a member of the VCCC but have a couple of vehicles on 404 with another club. Is it a simple matter to transfer those cars over to the VCCC?. If so how do i proceed? Warren.

    Hi Warren

As these are already licensed and on 404 concession, it it just a simple matter of you adding these vehicle details to your VCCC Club profile, and getting them removed from the other club by whatever process they use.

When you add the vehicles make sure that you select that they are 404 concessional licence.

Just wondering whether test runs within 30km of home need to be logged as impromptu runs in the app please?

    Hi Jeremy

it is important that we abide by the regulations set in place for code 404, and although Test runs are allowed, they should be just that, for the Testing of the vehicle.

if you are using the vehicle for any other reason, then it should be logged as an impromptu run, this is easy enough to do especially with the phone app, and under the code we have unlimited Impromptu runs.

it is important that we keep using vehicles withing the codes in the spirit that they were designed by the DoT as they are monitoring and auditing the VCC and all other clubs activities.
